Lancashire School Sailing Association have been sailing at Fishmoor since 1981 and in this time our centre facilities have been developed to meet the ever changing needs of its user groups. This ideal sailing water allows young sailors to progress from beginner to further development of their seamanship skills in an enjoyable and safe environment.

We are the sole users of Fishmoor and on this site LSSA provides changing, toilet & teaching rooms, boat storage and a purpose built slipway & launching area. The centre provide a dedicated safety boat and offer a wide range of dinghies Optimists for beginners, single handed Toppers to double handed Laser Picos.

Young people who start sailing at Fishmoor have progressed to represent their county at national youth events, organised by National School Sailing Association and Royal Yatching Association.

The sailing season at Fishmoor stretches from Easter through to September, with some more experienced groups using the reservoir during the winter months. Most of the organised sailing sessions are organised through our various youth user groups during school term time, usually weekday evenings. During the holiday periods the reservoir is used extensively by local authority youth service groups, with weekend sailing usually by arrangement with the reservoir chairman.

Existing Fishmoor user groups should contact the reservoir chairman directly on SailLSSAaol.com for latest reservoir and instructor availability. New groups and membership applications should directed their request in the first instance through the association secretary
